Happy Belated Thanksgiving!

I know it's not techinically Thanksgiving anymore... but the spirit of the season is still here, so I thought I'd share some thanks day pics with you. :) It was a holiday of many continued traditions. We went to the Hogle Zoo in the morning, and then went to Aunt Crystal's house for the dinner party.
The following Saturday, Dad took me and my sisters on a four-wheeler ride in Butterfield canyon. We used to go every Thanksgiving morning, but five years ago we had an accident and Lexie broke her arm, so we vetoed that tradition until this year. Although it was actually two days after Thanksgiving, I still think it qualifies as satisfying the tradition (see previous post for pics.)

My favorite ever! Mr. Giraffe was having trouble getting to his holiday squash.

And the newbie baby giraffe simply munched on his hay all day.
How convenient, a do-it-yourself christmas card!
There was a cool new animal on display, called a Fossa (pronounced: Foo-sa) Like from "Madagascar'!

Two baby Amur Tigers played tag. So cute.
Penguin guys were up close and personal.
Young'ns galore! Baby elephant, Suri, and her momma ate squash for Thanksgiving dinner, too.

Death by Fish?

I suspect I have been poisoned by food. Raw, fish like food to be exact... or, to be ambiguous. Saturday night I experienced "real sushi" for the first time, at a restaurant that will not here be named, but it was good; I liked it. Then, this morning, as I turned onto 75th and hit that rut in the road--for about the 75th time-- a sickly feeling started growing in my stomach and continued growing until I returned home from school. Now, I'm not positive it's food poisoning (how food poisoning could be positive, I have no idea.) But all I know is that I felt like an apple was stuck in my throat, parasites were swimming in my stomach, and i was so nauseated that any perfumed fragrance made me want to hurl. (The locker room after dance class was horrible; all the girls were spritzing themselves with body spray. It sent my head spinning.) I'm feeling better now, but boy did I learn my lesson: Don't trust raw fish no matter how many posters in the restaurant say "No worry, it good for you."

Fresh Air, Fall, and Family

My family and I visited our cabin this weekend-for the first time since July. Tyler is leaving on his mission in November, and my adorable sister Tara suggested that we all go camping as a family one last time before Tyler is gone. We rode four-wheelers as a family, had dinner as a family, watched Pirates of the Caribbean (on our sweet new projector tv) as a family, and even jumped in the huge pile of leaves that we made as a family. In addition to all this familiar stuff, I studied my little heart out, reading two chapters in my daunting history book and completing three packets of homework. To take a break from the madness, I conquered my fear of heights and joined my dad at the top of the scaffolding that he was using to seal the exterior logs of our cabin. I made it all the way to the top, which was as tall as our two-story cabin! Ahh! I took pictures.

Megan and I created this movie last year during UEA.We finally figured out how to get it onto the computer, edit it, and post it on the internet for all to see! (except one person, you know who you are...:) Anyway, enjoy! Try not to laugh too much; at us. It's fine to laugh with us though. Set sail!

The Return, to Happiness

Hi all! Sorry I've been out for quite a while. I don't really have an excuse, but none of that matters anymore because I'm back! At least for the time being. School is just a few short weeks away and I have a strong feeling that my time is about to be swallowed up by homework and dance rehearsals.
Anywhoo... I found this fantastic new website/blog called The Happiness Project. It's exactly what I've been looking for, and I'm sad I didn't think of it first. But this lady is doing a better job than I would have done. If you like the principle of self-improvement, and have been searching for a way to collaborate all the articles you read about "how to be happy" then check it out! Go to www.happiness-project.com

The Sporty Nerd

I'm such a nerd. This is a video project I did for my final in physics. I thought it was pretty good, and it's been how I spent my time this past week, so I thought "Why not post it on my blog?"    Watch if you want. Maybe you'll learn something. : )

IKEA-nation!

Megan and I went to IKEA, the home furniture store straight from "Sweden", and discovered all the wonderful things that can be discovered in IKEA.
(There's a special surprise at the end just for you if you laugh hard enough!)

DC Much Love :)

Dance Company Concert was one of the best experiences I had this year in high school. It was amazing.

Modern dance is so.... modern. There's no other way to describe it.
Backstage, getting ready for the show. Ooo, secrets revealed!

Gotta love spandex pants, there's nothing better.
Hey world, guess what? Mindee found her camera cord!!!! Well, okay, it's my sister's but it still works. So.... look for upcoming posts with pictures full of fun! :)

It'll Grow Back, Right?

Did I forget to mention that I got my hair cut? Oops. Well, sometime last week, Uncle Roddy finally fit me into his busy schedule and mom drove me up to his salon in Sugarhouse. I wasn't expecting a huge change, but oh did I get one. Rod just trimmed my hair about an inch, but he chopped my bangs. Chop!! I was pretty mortified at first, because my bangs no longer parted in the middle, they fell straight across my forehead. I'll get a picture up here as soon as I find my camera cord (see previous post) but until then, you'll just have to imagine. (Unless you've already seen me -eh hem- Clint:) Although I didn't ask for this kind of haircut, I have grown to love it.

Gone

Don't you love it when cords go missing? Especially the kind of cords that connect your camera to your computer. The kind that, without it, you can't load pictures onto your blog. Pictures of you and your cousin having a ball in IKEA. It's just kind of frustrating, you know? It feels like you've lost your mind because you lost something so important to the success of your blog and you feel like you can't go on without it. Cords are stupid. Why can't technology be wirelessly synced? And controlled by our minds?       I ask too much.
